Youth Triennium Reunion

The Youth will NOT be able to hold their celebration and sharing of the Triennium experience at Presbytery Gathering as previously announced.

For information, contact Lynn Stone.

Habitat for Humanity LA and OC

The Faith Relations Managers for Habitat LA and OC will come to share information about present and future projects in Los Angeles and Orange Counties and ways that churches and people in the presbytery can participate in these projects.

Family Promise Orange County

Chuck Turner of St. Mark and Bernie Jeltema will host a discussion on the subject of “Serving the Homeless”  and the non-profit organization represented is Family Promise of Orange County. Chuck is the President. Family Promise of Orange County is an interfaith hospitality network of congregations that provide emergency shelter and services to homeless families. Our goal is to eliminate homelessness and place each family in a home of their own in less than three months.

Mary Magdelene Project

The Presbyterian Women will be presenting information on the Mary Magdelene Project and their involvement with this worthy project.  Check out other information on the Mary Magdelene Project on their website.

GA Commissioners

The commissioners sent to General Assembly from Los Ranchos in July will be presenting information on the issues to be voted by the presbytery.  They will have a workshop and report on issues from GA.

Leave No Trace (except the gospel) Mission

Is it possible to ‘do mission’ sustainably so that we do not create dependence or ‘make work’ projects, but so that we can actually come alongside brothers and sisters in other cultures? What might this look like? How might it differ from ways we’ve ‘done mission’ in the past? How can we live out our presbytery’s stated desire to be a ‘stimulating learning environment where creativity and innovation are the norm’ in our understanding of and calling to mission in the world?

Come ready to engage in a discussion around the issues, as well as ponder some practical specifics looking at a case study of a particular orphanage in Baja as one possibility for taking theories and ideas and putting them into practice.

Lesotho Partnership Trip Report – Bruce Boyer & Pam Roeth

In late August Bruce and Pam traveled to the Kingdom of Les0tho to be with our Joining Hands partners. Come learn more about their trip and about our particular partnership between Los Ranchos and Lesotho.
