Leave No Trace (except the gospel) Mission

Is it possible to ‘do mission’ sustainably so that we do not create dependence or ‘make work’ projects, but so that we can actually come alongside brothers and sisters in other cultures? What might this look like? How might it differ from ways we’ve ‘done mission’ in the past? How can we live out our presbytery’s stated desire to be a ‘stimulating learning environment where creativity and innovation are the norm’ in our understanding of and calling to mission in the world?

Come ready to engage in a discussion around the issues, as well as ponder some practical specifics looking at a case study of a particular orphanage in Baja as one possibility for taking theories and ideas and putting them into practice.
